Beginning with the Articles of Confederation and moving through the current constitutional amendments, students will gain a holistic understanding of the functions of the United States government according to the Constitution, and what makes the constitutional republic unique from other forms of government. Students will also be able to assess and analyze advantages and disadvantages to the constitutional republic form of government, compared to other forms of government around the world and throughout history.
