Cindy Herndon

I graduated from Frostburg State College in1976 with a B.A. in English and Education and have been teaching ever since. I taught middle school Reading and English in rural Frederick County and in suburban Prince George’s County for five years. Then I moved up to teaching high school at LaReine Catholic Girls High School where I taught for nine years and was the English Department Chair for five of those years. At that point I began home-schooling my daughters. When they reached 13, I recognized the need for them to have certified teachers in math and the sciences; therefore I turned to Cornerstone to provide instruction in areas I was unable to. I offered my services to the Cornerstone board and began teaching there in 1999. I have taught rural and suburban, middle school and high school, learning- disabled and gifted, public/Catholic and homeschooled students. Teaching is not just a job to me; it is a ministry.
