Acoustic or Electric Guitar, Assignment Notebook, 30 Weeks of Instruction

This course is designed to help the student develop basic music skills with the guitar (acoustic or electric). Students will learn to play melodies, various rhythms, and harmonies. Intermediate level students will be challenged to develop and enhance their techniques by learning augmented and diminished chords and minor and major chord patterns.

In this class we will cover the following: Guitar Care and Maintenance, proper hand and body positioning, tuning the guitar by ear, chord studies, various international rhythms and time signatures, technique of lead scales, and memorizing the fretboard. Each semester will conclude with a performance by select students individually or with a group in the study hall.
