Project Description
World Regional Geography
This full year course starts with the basics of geography and the year ends with the students analyzing current event and demographic data in order to gain a fuller understanding of the world we live in. It covers the main continents of the world with the goal of teaching the students the countries, physical geography and general history of each area and country. The Five Themes of Geography, Location, Place, Human Environmental Interaction, Movement and Region are used to analyze the current events that each student brings to class each week. The goal of the course is to have each student more aware of the world that they live in, and able to understand current events in the news. The second semester includes a final project with each student presenting his/her paper at the Geography Banquet.
