There are many good reasons for studying Latin. As they study, students begin to become familiar with one of the most interesting and influential cultures in world history, and at the same time they develop their analytical and organizational skills. Studying Latin helps students improve their English vocabularies and increase their knowledge of how languages work. As a result students may see improvement in their English reading, writing, and grammar skills and may find that they learn other Romance languages more easily. I teach four levels of Latin at Cornerstone. During the 2015-2016 school year, I will be teaching Latin I and Latin IV.
