Project Description

British Literature

In British Literature, students will examine poetry and prose through an analytical, historical,
biographical and critical lens. Though the main focus of the course will be Romantic Naturalism
and Victorian Poetry and Prose, we will also explore some of Shakespeare’s works, analyze at
least one novel, and discuss some contemporary literature from the twentieth century.
Throughout the course, students will take exams and write analytical, argumentative, and
research-driven essays. After completing this course, students will be familiar with a wide scope
of British authors and their works.

Prerequisite: 10th – 12th Grade Class, Completion of Cornerstone Elements of Composition & Literature or written work submission and permission from instructor.
